Fall Beauty Guide 2016

We all want to look like the best possible version of ourselves without looking dated or like a walking poster child for trends-gone-wrong, so here’s a little help to keep you achieve your own customized version of Autumn / Winter glamour.

Brows:

We still love a strong brow that doesn’t violate your already gorgeous facial features. The slightly unkempt brow that you may have noticed making their way down the runways and in magazines are probably not ideal for the look anyone is really going for. For that reason, continue with your regular brow care regiment or visit our friends at Anastasia Beverly Hills inside your closest Nordstrom and they will get you fixed right up. Also look into some of the fabulous new techniques in brow styling such as microblading if you’ve already reaped irreparable damage to your brows or don’t have much hair to start with. Our for South Florida dolls, give us a call or text and let us point you in the right direction for brow beautification.

Skin:

We’re so excited to announce that the overly contoured face is OVER! Natural makeup is back… and we’re totally okay with that. No more questions of what you’ve had done to your face because you demanded that chiseled contour on your already perfectly shaped face. If, you’d like your face or specific features to appear less round… contour away, that’s what it’s for. Flushed cheeks are in this season, so embrace it!

Hair:

Curly and wavy haired dolls… this is your season to let your natural hair work to your benefit! Brushed out waves are the way to go. They don’t have to be perfectly smoothed out… so after your blow out, you can still revive your look and not worry that it doesn’t look like day one. Throw in a jeweled hair accessory and let your fabulous textured (whatever your texture maybe) hair fly!

Eyes:

So the beauty universe is telling us to keep your eyes super minimal this season. We wont dare tell you what to do but we will say, choose whether you want to highlight your eyes or your lips with your chosen makeup look. Going strong on both may be too much even for a special occasion this Autumn / Winter season… Let the focus be on fabulous lashes on a minimally lined lid with a hint of shimmer so you can go strong on your lip color. Or try a soft tinted lip and a more dramatic eye look if that’s what you’re in the mood for. Kohl-rimmed eyes with an almost naked lip will definitely do the trick!

If you know you have a few important dates and /or events in your near future, let us know and we can get you squared away with our team of stylists to give you a personalized beauty experience that will have you feeling and looking like a million bucks!

Olivia Palermo: Glam Neutrals

Getting ready for a first date or getting a little glam for a date night with your long time love can be mildly stressful. For that reason, we like to call on one of our favorite fashion influencers, Olivia Palermo, never fails to ‘wow’ us with her effortless glamour and classic style. Here she is at the Audemars Piguet Rodeo Drive grand opening celebration wearing the militaire crepe shirt maxi dress from Self-Portrait’s Resort collection. She kept it simple, yet luxurious by pairing it with a vintage bracelet from her own closet and Manolo Blahnik pumps. We’re not sure where her clutch is from, however, you know we always have that little extra something to finish off your look… (Shop Clutches)

Keep your hair and makeup light, bright and easy going, tousled waves and golden hues will complement this look perfectly. Whatever shade of dress you choose, make sure choose one facial feature to showcase. Here Olivia’s makeup artist focused on accentuated her eyes above all, which is always a great choice for a date night.

If you need styling for a big night, call us or book an appointment for whatever you need right here! xo

9 to 5 Chic

We stumbled upon style blogger, Anh (pronounced: on) a couple years ago and really admired her versatility in work wear while honoring her personal style and femininity. Keep in mind, not everyone has a “personal style” some of us just throw things on and there’s no emotion or personality involved in their appearance. While, we aren’t judging because if those ladies and gentlemen would like help with their 9 to 5 style we’re here, but we REALLY appreciate someone who has style that inspires. Ladies like Anh make us want to work smart and be efficient (that’s strictly an opinion, however we’re sure their must be some kind of science behind it). Either way, enjoy the soft sophistication of this stylish San Francisco Marketing Director and get inspired by her highly celebrated collection of photos from work and play on 9to5chic.com.

Hair Trends 2016

This is your #WasabiDoll forecast for Winter 2015/2016’s trends in hair fashion! Time to stock up on your favorite frizz taming solutions because the new trends are both a mixture of Modern & Sleek. Minimalism is a key element of the up & coming trends. Along with a touch of elegance and a hint of 70’s Glamour. The 90’s influences and boho waves are still strong only slightly edited to give a feel of a no effort appearance but having a little more of a straight structure in texture. We have noticed a boost in our cliental requesting more sleek and structured  yet effortless styles as they have seen on the runways of New York Fashion Week. We’ve literally received requests such as, “I would like it slicked back and like I did it myself.

  • Pony Tails

This year ponytail hairstyles are either tight and poker straight or fully relaxed and messy with fly-away strands. All of these looks are a great way to create a focus on other aspects of your look. Throw on statement earrings, simple and always classic hoops or stud earrings to instantly give your look a remix!

  • Bun Hairstyles 2016

This year buns and knots are updated with modern twists and accessories and look highly fashionable. Instead of wearing classy bun you can turn it into a stylish up-do with a  simple touch; just complete it with wet look or add a eye catching  accessory.

  • Wet Effect

Wet effect is back, and yes, this Winter and Spring you can wear hairstyle with wet look. Just like previous season slicked hairstyles 2016 designs are simple and classy.

  • Boho Waves 2016

Relaxed and messy waves in bohemian style have made their way to us and are popular once again. Natural beauty is more appreciated now and it concern to both hairstyles and makeup.  You can check out runway looks were models are wearing boho waves completed with no makeup look. Boho waves are created on both long and medium short hair.

Popular ideas of boho waves are loose center parted or side parted hairstyles. Several long hairstyles were completed with wispy bang that visually makes face more proportionate.

  • Hair Accessories

Hair accessories have a special place in fashion and this is why every season designers present new collection of accessories to complete outfits and new hairstyles. 2016  accessories are massive and eye catching with Stones and bright colors. Any of these accessories can turn simple hairstyle into  something really unique.

We can’t wait to see all the different ways you’re all styled this season!

Fashionably yours,

Talie Santiago

#TBT: Inside South Florida

How’s this for a throwback from my interview with David Aizer for “Inside South Florida” on SFL-TV the CW. I’m one of those many people that are horrified by the sound of their own voice, but I stepped out of my comfort zone, said a few things I shouldn’t and had some laughs while doing it! In the upcoming months look for me as I take leaps and bounds out of my comfort zone on our YouTube Channel, PinkWasabi-TV.

Thanks for tuning in!
