Pretty in Pink: Pregnancy Shoot

Having your first child is truly something special and a moment in time that doesn’t get a repeat. For that reason it’s very special when a first time Mommy-to-be gets to relish in the glow of her pregnancy, and take photos without feeling the need to suck in (that little joke was courtesy of our Mommy Model herself). Belinda asked us to give her a natural “no-makeup” makeup look with tousled waves and that’s just what she got! Simply Beautiful.

Take a look at some of the photos from our dear friend, Belinda’s pregnancy photoshoot:

Makeup Trends 2016

Fashionistas everywhere are falling in love with the 2016 forecast of trends in makeup. Fresh skin and pops of color with a little twinkle will be the focus this Winter season into the new year! We’ve created a little guide for you to get inspired by some fun updates in beauty and makeup. Enjoy!

Ultra Bright Foundation:

More chic and understated, a lighter foundation was a sensation at Nina Ricci and Balenciaga. The seamless texture with a tint of gloss, gives and hydrated and translucent look, for a healthy after-summer glow.

Dark Pout:

Out with the conventional reds and pinks, Fall 2015 lips are dark shades of Bordeaux, plum and deepest black. Matte or iridescent, don’t be afraid to turn up the drama with a dark lip.

 Shades of Orange:

A big trend on the catwalk, shades of Apricot, Coral and Mandarin are a fresh look for Fall/Winter 2015-2016. Blended all around the eye area or washed over the lid, designers, including Rodarte, brought the autumnal hues to the forefront.

Shades of Orange
 Strong Brows:

Because they define the face, strong, thick brows are back and look set to be the focus for Fall. Swap your tweezers for brushes and gels to create a bolder look. Remember to remain true to your natural brow shape, you’re guaranteed to begin a whole new love affair with your face!

Strong Brows
Graphic eyes

The story in eye style for Fall 2015 is a geometric shape around the eye with an eyeliner and mascara.  Create an abstract look using precise lines, dashed-off strokes or freestyle shapes. As long as it is big and bold, then it is on trend.

Graphic Eyes
The New Smoky Eye:

This smoky eye is more subtle, more sophisticated and less defined this time around, but it is back nevertheless. Wear at day or night with a nude base and lip, as seen at Chanel.

No Makeup Makeup:

An even complexion, pure lips and nude eyes, this beauty look was omnipresent at the shows and is the trend to follow. Makeup is used to correct imperfections and to highlight natural beauty: less is definitely more.

Back to Black:

Applied to the inner eye, wisped through the eyebrows and on the upper eyelid, liner was the indispensable tool backstage to create an intense look in a single sweep. Grunge is normally a look for the evening, but wear it in the day for a subtle rock or classic look.

Accessorize Your Eyes:

Lines of rhinestones under the eyes and carefully trimmed false eyelashes were used to shape an intense look, 2.0-style.

Deep Tan:

As a bulwark against the Winter elements, the models showcased a glowing tan on the Fall/Winter 2015-2016 runway. The secret? A sweeping blush gives that just-come-back-from-vacation look. What’s more glamorous than traveling to St. Barth’s during the Winter months? Looking like you did.

Deep Winter Tan
 Temporary Tattoos:

For Anthony Vaccarello, makeup artists created a half star at the corner of eye and at Giamba the girls had the tiny arrows on their cheeks. From New York to Paris and passing over Milan and London, eyeliner designs on the model’s faces were all over the runway. The arty details varied, but it’s an easy idea for adding a rebellious touch to an evening look.

Step 2 After “I do”

Why is scheduling your beauty services one of
the most important steps after setting a date?

Chrissy-Teigan-celebrity-wedding-beauty

If there is any time in your life to give yourself A-List treatment, it’s when it comes time to be a bride (not to be mistaken with a bridezilla, because no one enjoys celebrating an overinflated ego). Something that many ladies don’t realize when planning for a day as special as their wedding, is securing their beauty & wellness dream team should be the next step after saying “Yes” to Mr. Right. Most people tend to get married during the Autumn and Spring months, especially in a destination location like South Florida. Because of our gorgeous weather and luxurious venue options not only are couples from around the country flocking to Palm Beach, the Florida Keys and everything in between to say “I do,” local couples also love to take advantage of our Autumn/Winter months for their weddings as well. For those reasons it’s really important to select the professionals that will make you look exactly the way you’ve always dreamed you would before anything else. Unfortunately, many brides wait until their budget has been blown out of the water, every talented stylist has already been booked and they’re left with a hit or miss look from the available beauty counter stylist at the closest department store with an up-do from a discount franchise salon.

Your wedding day, anniversary, or milestone event should be spent with people who not only love and care for you, but talented professionals that understand what an honor it is to be a part of such a special day. Aside from the memories, your satisfaction regarding your visual appearance will be the part of your memories that will be documented in photos and videos forever. Spending upwards of $600 on designer shoes, that usually remain hidden under your dress, hardly seems like a valuable used of your budget. Spending $300-$500 on the artistry that only a real professional makeup artist and hairstylist can provide, will undoubtably make you feel like $1,000,000. You don’t want to be unpleasantly surprised by the sight of your own hair and makeup! Not only on your special day, but every moment you take a glance at your photos and love how happy and gorgeous you looked! That’s a great demonstration of a positive return on investment.

It’s also really important that you have a proper consultation and trial with your stylists so you’re all prepared to create your desired look for your special event. Things to consider:

  • Would you like to fuller hair or a style that requires extensions?
  • Do you want a new haircut and/or color?
  • Would you prefer an up-do or to wear your hair down?
  • Is “natural makeup” your goal? Well “natural makeup” is a subjective term.
  • Are you planning for any procedures (surgical or non-surgical) or treatments prior to getting your makeup and/or hair done?

Those factors will determine what steps you and your stylist will take to achieve your dream makeup and hairstyle look! If you make sure that you make room in your budget to have an enjoyable experience while planning with your bridesmaids, family and friends it won’t feel so much like work.

Let our PinkWasabi team get you dolled up with our personalized beauty and wellness services so you too, can love the way you look and feel on your special day!

#TBT: Inside South Florida

How’s this for a throwback from my interview with David Aizer for “Inside South Florida” on SFL-TV the CW. I’m one of those many people that are horrified by the sound of their own voice, but I stepped out of my comfort zone, said a few things I shouldn’t and had some laughs while doing it! In the upcoming months look for me as I take leaps and bounds out of my comfort zone on our YouTube Channel, PinkWasabi-TV.

Thanks for tuning in!
